MY REVIEW
You may recall about a month ago, I read and reviewed another Fossen title, Holden. There are plenty of both family values and sex to go around in No Getting Over a Cowboy as well. I've read the first book in this series as well, called Those Texas Nights, and have it on my rather long list of reviews to catch up on.
In Cowboy, we get to see more of the Granger family, having been thoroughly introduced to Sophie Granger in book 1. And if you look at the cover, the book is quite aptly named. There's no gettin' over that cowboy. *wink**wink*
And poor Garrett, if ever there was a cowboy in need of some comfort, it's him. His wife betrays him in a *ahem* rather public way (thanks to the internet). The 'other man' turns out to be Nicky's brother. You remember Nicky, with whom Garrett had a short relationship in high school. Well, after that didn't work out, she got married. Unfortunately, her husband passed on and she is now a widow. And she's running a retreat for widows in need of some recuperation...at an old house on the Granger property (which Garrett manages).
And there's a full range of characters that show up. One woman gives chase to anything in spurs. Three sisters continually go to Nicky with complaints about the 'provocative' dress of the ranch hands - you know those tight jeans and chaps, and the occasional *gasp* shirtless beefcake. And later on in the book, even Garrett's ex (though she is not a widow, she too has suffered a loss). And that makes for some very awkward situations.
There are plenty of secrets to go around and Fossen deals them out at just the right rate to keep readers riveted. There's one towards the end that just about blew me away ... but ... I can't tell you about it. (That dang 'no spoilers' credo of mine.)
Luckily there are more brothers to go in the Granger family, and hot tamales, there are more books to tell us all about them in the "Wrangler's Creek" series. I'll never be overly happy to read explicit sex scenes in romances (or any other genre), but I'm fast becoming a very happy fan of Delores Fossen - the stories are engaging, the characters are warm-blooded, and family plays an important part in the books.
Looks like DOZENS more books are going on my TBR.

I am glad that you were able to enjoy this novel so much! I actually haven't read too many books with the cowboy theme before, so it would be new to me. But it sounds like all the characters in this one have a lot of life in them, and it was good to see them appear again after that first book.
